Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine
Acupuncture is based on the assumption that Qi courses through the channels of the body. The acupuncture points are located in small depressions in the skin where the channels come closest to the surface. With acupuncture, the circulation of Qi in the channels is increased or decreased to restore balance.
Insertion of needles goes unnoticed by some, and to others it feels like a small pinch followed by a sensation of tingling, numbness, warmth, or heaviness. Needles remain in place for 15-20 minutes. Most people notice a relief of symptoms or feel more energetic following the treatment.
Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine are helpful for a wide variety of health conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, decreased immune function, gynecological problems, and chronic autoimmune diseases.
