Marjorie has been working in the field of education for nearly 40 years. She has worked with a wide range of ages and abilities in primary to tertiary settings throughout various parts of the world. She recently returned to Canada after living and working abroad for 20 years. During that time away she taught English as a Second Language in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Along with her teaching in ESL, she also taught yoga and meditation while in the Middle East, as well as in Nicaragua.

Format for the Introduction to Meditation session:
Introduce the benefits of meditation
Practical considerations (how, when, where, timing, what to expect during meditation, establishing a regular practice, etc.)
Breathing techniques (preparation for meditation)
Chair yoga (optional movement activity to enable students to sit more comfortably during the session)
Introduce a basic mantra meditation technique
Practice the basic mantra meditation
Question & Answer
After one session (approximately one and a half hours), you will be ready to start practicing on your own at home, and you will be on your way to experiencing the benefits that this time-honored technique has to offer you.
